2008 Sierra Instrumental Seminar & Chamber Workshop Presented in collaboration with Spend your 2008 summer vacation in the magnificent Eastern Sierra Mountains, and join the resident Felici Piano Trio for the Sierra Instrumental Seminar and Chamber Workshop at Cerro Coso College in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Expect superb coaching sessions and lessons with our exceptional faculty of performers and educators and enjoy the Mammoth Lakes Music Festival – a series of acclaimed chamber concerts by internationally renowned artists. Workshop/Seminar housing is in fully furnished resort condominiums which range in price from $250-$650 per session, depending on your preferences – please see the application for more housing details. 2008 Sierra Instrumental Seminar (July 20 to 26) For pianists and string players age 14+ who want to develop and deepen their technical, musical and expressive skills - all playing levels are welcome! SIS offers an intensive week of individual lessons, masterclasses, music theory and ear training instruction as well as performance opportunities. Take advantage of this week and prepare your part for the chamber workshops! Tuition is $300 which also includes continental breakfasts, light lunches, college credit and three tickets to the festival concerts. 2008 Sierra Chamber Ensemble Workshop (July 27 - Aug. 2) The workshop is for intermediate/advanced amateur players of strings, woodwinds and piano. Begin the day with fresh coffee and pastries and jump right into freelancing, or be inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the area on bike or hike. Grab a bite at the light lunch buffet before you plunge into rehearsals and coachings throughout the afternoon. Player/coach led sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays are among the most popular aspects of SCEW, providing a unique opportunity for participants to tackle even the most challenging repertoire. At night, get together with faculty members for special topic round-tables, or revel in world-class performances by our outstanding artist-teachers.
