2012 Sierra Academy of Music (SAM)

SAM is an intensive 2-week MUSIC ACADEMY for string players and pianists age 16-24, designed to refine the skills needed for excellence in solo and ensemble performance through individual lessons, ensemble coaching, and in daily masterclasses.

Students study with the internationally renowned artist-teachers of the concurrent Mammoth Lakes Music Festival and perform prepared solo and chamber music repertoire as well as playing in a conductor-less chamber orchestra in formal concerts each Saturday.

Students younger than 16 may apply to the academy and can be admitted upon faculty evaluation.
