Presented in collaboration with

Sierra Academy of Music (SAM)
July 16 - 30, 2017
Mammoth Lakes, CA

SAM is an intensive 2-week academy for string players and pianists ages 16-25 who are looking to refine their skills in solo and ensemble playing.

Our faculty is comprised of the internationally-renowned artists of the concurrent Unbound Chamber Music Festival. They are dedicated educators from around the country, who provide a supportive environment in which each student can develop to the best of his/her ability.

SAM students receive individual lessons and ensemble coaching and have ample time to practice and rehearse. Students are expected to come prepared with the pre-assigned chamber music and orchestra parts, as well as with solo repertoire so they can take full advantage of performance opportunities in daily master classes and two public concerts.

SAM housing for students 18+ is at Sierra Park Villas, a short walk to the Academy campus. A limited number of under-18 students can be placed with host families upon request. If we are unable to place under-18 students with a host family, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Fellowships for tuition and housing are available to the most qualified students.

Tuition: $750
Housing (14 nights): $650-975, depending on preference. Please see the application for details.
Lunches: $95. Please see the application for details.
Application Deadline: April 1, 2017 (applications are now closed, except for violists. If you are a viola applicant, please email us at Felici@ChamberMusicUnbound.org)
